Some of the district’s top garden and design talent were honoured at a special awards night on November 13.
The eagerly awaited Bradford Community Housing Trust’s (BCHT) 2006 Home and Garden awards ceremony took place at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television.
Over 200 tenants of BCHT entered this year’s competition which was split into three categories; Best Floral Display, Best Room Makeover and Best Kept Garden.
This year there was Gold, Silver and Bronze awards with lots of top prizes. Each winner received a glass engraved trophy.
Martin Smith, Chair of Bradford Community Housing Trust said: “BCHT’s Home and Garden competition is one of the highlights of the year and shows the enormous pride that our tenants have in their gardens, homes and neighbourhoods.
“The quality of the entries from right across the district has been terrific.”
Ian Simpson, Executive Director of Bradford West City Community Housing Trust, who organised the Home and Garden Competition said: “This year’s competition has been another resounding success and each year it encourages more and more tenants to show off creative talents both in the home and outside. Their contribution is helping to brighten up the neighbourhoods and encourage other residents to do the same.
