Business Development: About Us

About Us
Bradford Community Housing Trust Group (BCHT) is a group of six independent not-for-profit Area Housing Trusts. It also includes a maintenance organisation, Bradford Building Services Ltd.
Business Development makes up one half of Bradford Building Services Ltd. (BBS), the other half operates as a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) and undertakes day-to-day repairs and voids work to BCHT’s housing stock. We are a relatively new service within BBS – created in 2004. Our staff have extensive experience in maintaining and improving residential properties.
Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, Business Development operates under three principle activities namely: -
  • 1. Specialist Aids and Adaptations schemes – such as fitting showers and ramps for elderly residents
  • 2. Investment and Regeneration projects – property refurbishments, fitted kitchens, bathrooms and external works
  • 3. Gas and Electrical projects – which include specialist alarm installations and repairs as well as central heating installations.
We also carry out major electrical rewires, repairs and installations works and are developing and building on our central heating installations, through our dedicated team of installers.
We work with all of the six Area Trusts, and other local organisations ensuring choice of design and quality of our services is matched by consistently high delivery. We are committed to ensuring that the large proportion of our work is generated from building strong relationships with all of the Area Trusts and Group services such as Investment & Regeneration.
Our commitment to continuous improvement
We regularly update our programmes of best practice and technical standards, combined with continuous investment in staff development and Health & Safety training. A key priority this year will be about 'nurturing’ relationships with all the BCHT group for future business growth and our new revised structure recognises the importance of this to our plans.
