trust hotline targets anti-social behaviour

12 March 2007

The Bradford Community Housing Trust Group has launched a 24-hour hotline to make it easier for its tenants to report anti-social behaviour incidents.

The hotline number is 01274 254274 and is being promoted through the Trust’s latest tenants newsletter (which will be delivered to all tenants on 26 March) and in local area housing offices. New tenants will also be given details of the hotline when they sign up for their new home.

During normal office hours, tenants should continue to get in touch with their local trust office about anti-social behaviour incidents in their neighbourhoods.

Peter Newbould, Director of Legal Services said: “We are committed to protecting the rights of all our law-abiding tenants to live in safe and secure neighbourhoods.

“The Trust’s legal, enforcement and mediation staff work closely with housing staff in each area of the district to follow up every anti-social behaviour report in a confidential way and respond to each one in the appropriate way. Sometimes this might involve enforcement action and on other occasions mediation support may resolve a problem.

“The 24-hour hotline aims to provide our tenants with another convenient way of getting in touch with us if they see or are victims of an anti-social behaviour incident.”

In 2006, BCHT’s Legal and Tenancy Enforcement teams dealt with over 200 anti-social behaviour reports from across the district.
