new ways to pay your rent

2 March 2007

Following feedback from customers who have expressed a desire to be able to pay their rent on the internet, we are pleased to announce that as from 22nd February 2007 BCHT, in partnership with a major bank, the Alliance & Leicester, will be able to accept payments on our website which you are using now.

There is a simple log in process the first time you enter the site you will need your "85" rent reference number from your rent card.

We listened to a small group of customers who told us that we needed to increase the number of places where people could pay their rent so in addition to the internet payments from 1 March 2007, you can also pay your rent at any of the Payzone outlets where you see the purple sign.

This means you can pay your rent by debit card or cash at a large number of local stores or petrol stations at any time they are open.

Finally, from 26 February 2007 we have increased the number of housing offices where you can pay so that you can pop into any office and pay your rent. The really good news is that the introduction of these new payment options has been done at a minimal cost and, in the case of existing post office and cash office payments we will actually save money in providing these services. These financial savings will be ploughed back into improving our services to you.

You can click on the logos for more information or to pay your rent on line through BillPay from 1st March 2007:
