A special hotline has been launched as part of a series of improvements to Bradford Community Housing Trust’s repairs operation.
Tenants across the district are now being urged to report any property repairs to a single hotline – 01274 257003 – instead of contacting their local Trust office with the details.
Alternatively, if the resident has access to email they can report a repair by contacting repairshotline@incommunities.co.uk
The hotline is run by Bradford Building Services – the repair and maintenance arm of the BCHT Group.
A team of highly trained staff are available to take customer calls and straightaway follow up repair reports with a team of operatives.
The hotline is available to report repairs during the day or night and weekends and customers are encouraged to give as much information as possible to help quickly assess the action needed. The telephone number should also be used for all emergency repairs.
Other improvements carried out to BCHT’s repairs and maintenance service include:-
· the launch of a single Repairs Service Centre to handle customer repair reports from across the district
· the introduction of mobile hand-held computers so repairs operatives can pick up and respond to reports on the move without returning to the depot
· an improved repair recording system and closer coordination between service centre staff and operatives so customers are kept better informed about their repair reports.
· Improved stock control systems so mobile repair operatives can complete more jobs more efficiently.
Greg Robinson, Director of Operations at Bradford Building Services said: “The new hotline and Repairs Service Centre aims to put our customers’ needs at the heart of the Trust’s repair operation.
“We successfully trialled the introduction of a single service centre in three areas of the Trust last year and quickly saw the improvements made in significantly cutting repair times. The new hotline aims to improve our performance levels further.”
Thousands of fridge magnets and pocket-sized hotline cards are being used to remind BCHT tenants of the new repairs hotline. The number is also being promoted in BCHT’s latest tenant newsletter which goes out to every Trust household later this month.
