BCHT’s Bradford Building Services (BBS) - Contract Services have today (Friday, 7 Dec) won an education award for its proactive work with schools to promote careers in construction.
Representatives from BBS - Contract Services received the ‘Business Supporting Schools’ category prize at a celebration event held at Future House, supported by the Bradford Education Business Partnership.
It was one of a number of award’s made to organisations, schools and students in recognition of the successful links between education and businesses in the Bradford and Leeds districts.
BBS - Contract Services are committed to encouraging young people to looking at training in construction trades such as plumbing, joinery, bricklaying and professional roles.
As well as working closely in schools to promote these career opportunities, this year Contract Services staff have hosted a ‘taster’ day in construction for female secondary school students and run a teacher awareness day promoting the sector in the classroom.

“The award reinforces the importance of taking the message from the ‘boardroom to the playground’ and encouraging youngsters of all backgrounds to get into the industry.
