Its that time of year again for Bradford district’s budding gardeners and house proud residents to show off their creative talents.

Yes, it’s the 2006 Home and Garden Competition run by Bradford Community Housing Trust offering more prizes than ever.

The competition is open to BCHT’s many thousands of tenants and this year includes Gold, Silver and Bronze awards covering three categories:-

Prizes will be given in each of BCHT’s six trust area and include digital cameras, DVD recorders, iPod music players and gift vouchers.

BCHT Group Chairman, Martin Smith said: “There is huge interest in brightening up gardens and transforming homes with TV makeover programmes. We want to encourage residents to be proud and show off their creative talents.

“It’s amazing what can be achieved with some imagination and enthusiasm and each year our tenants rise to the challenge with lots of fantastic entries from colourful gardens and patio spaces to magical room makeovers.”

“The competition really plays its part in bringing some summer colour to homes and neighbourhoods around the district.

“So don’t delay and send in your entries for this great contest.”

This week, entry forms are going out to every BCHT home in the district. The closing date for the competition is Monday, 26 June.

Last year, more than 200 BCHT tenants entered gardens, floral displays and room makeovers.

The Telegraph & Argus, Cleanaway and Wates Construction are kindly sponsoring this year’s competition.
