Our vision and values: Keeping our promises

We strive to ensure that all of the following promises that we make to our tenants in the run up to transfer of a property, are kept:

• A rent guarantee from each of the six local Trusts that tenants who transferred from the Council will not have their rents increased by more than inflation plus 1.5% on the 1st April 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007

• Protection of all key tenancy rights including the Right to Buy

• A bigger say for tenants - the majority of board places on the local trusts for tenants

• A £175m programme of repairs and improvements to bring homes up to standard by 2008 – this will include the following works:
  
  • Over 10,000 homes with new double glazed uPVC windows
  • Over 11,000 homes with central heating installed or upgraded
  • Over 5,500 kitchens to be modernised or redesigned
  • Over 3,500 bathrooms to be modernised
  • New security fixtures to be installed
